Optical Network Status
Since securing the right to lay underground pipelines from the state-run NETCOM in 2012, we have designed a network suited to the communication capacity of each region, centered on the 288 Core 2 line that runs through the center of Ulaanbaatar, and built an underground optical cable network of 110 km.
Through continuous network expansion to the Ger area, we have completed the construction of a 221 km optical cable network as of 2022 and completed the plan to lay additional optical cables by securing 440 km of pipelines.

We have completed the plan to expand the existing 221 km optical cable network, acquired the pipeline installation permit, and are currently laying advanced underground pipelines in the central area of Ulaanbaatar by the end of June 2024. Once this work is completed, two sets of 288C optical cables will be laid, expanding the total optical cable network by an additional 440 km. The entire network is expected to expand as follows.
